Review of the Chichen Itza, cenote, and Valladolid tour from Cancun, with pricing, stops, guide tips, transport advice, and honest drawbacks.

“Incredible tour with tons of information provided throughout by our excellent, caring and knowledgeable guide, Edwin. Highly recommend this experience, I enjoyed every moment. Take the opportunity to get your Mayan horoscope. Edwin was gracious to explain and talk through it with us on our drive back to Playa dell Carmen at the end of the day. While it is a long day, it doesn't feel like it and Chichén Itzá is a place to experience when you are in the area. I could have had more time exploring Valladolid. The cenote was beautiful and the food at the buffet was good. I'm vegan and there were plenty of options…”

“We took the later tour (bare in mind it is a 12 hour day so you will be back at the hotel much later in the evening) the bus was on time and we were transferred to a larger bus where we met our to guides Beto and Kevin. They were very informative on the bus to the cenote which passed the time. At the Cenote we also had lunch and the tequila tasting. The lunch was buffet style although small options it was still nice and we were full afterwards. We had plenty of time to do these activities. Beto and Kevin were great at Chichén Itzá telling us…”

Review of a Tulum, reef, and cenote day tour from Cancun, with practical advice on timing, fees, snorkeling, lunch, and value.

“We had a great time during this experience! The tour of the Tulum ruins was great, although it was a bit tough to understand the guide. However, he tried his best to convey the information to us, and the ruins were amazing! Our guide, Tlaltemoa, was very knowledgeable about Cancún’s history. He is also very passionate about the environment, and he showed us how to explore the ocean and the cenotes while appreciating the nature around us, teaching us lessons that will last a lifetime. Lunch, snacks, fruits, and water were provided to us, and the transportation was punctual and very safe.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 3,903 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $49

Review of Cancun’s ATV, zipline, cenote, tacos, and tequila adventure, with honest advice on value, timing, transport, and extra costs.

“Did this activity with 12yo and 14yo. Zip lining was great! AtVs were awesome. The cenote was amazing. Great transportation. The cenote time should have been longer - only 20 minutes (not super clear from the listing). So much time was wasted on upselling things - I know it’s how they make money, but it was so excessive. But the lack of cenote time was really what keeps this from 5 stars. Take some of the selling time and put it into cenote time.”

Review of Rancho Bonanza’s horseback ride and cenote swim near Cancun, with jungle trails, rescued horses, transport, tips, costs, and practical advice.

“Fabian was a great guide. We planned this excursion as part of our honeymoom on the last day and it was a huge hit. You will ride through Playa's jungle on well trained horses and learn a lot of great information. We didnt swim, but if you want to a well trained golden lab will lead you into the cenote. They provided high quality pictures that you will treasure for a long time to come. You should do this and request Fabian. Dont forget save time to meet all the horses and donkeys on your way out.”

Swim through three Cancun cenotes, ride a zipline, jump from platforms, and sample tequila on this lively small-group adventure.

“The tour guide and the photographer were the only good thing about this tour. We only spent 20 minutes at each location. Tequila tasting took the entire time at the second cenota in which we did not even get to get in and swim. After 1 or two jumps you have to move to the next location. Do not pay for the upgrades.. we were promised unlimited snacks and food as well as alcohol to only be denied food at the restaurant, no alcoholic beverages were even offered other than watered down margaritas and modelo beer that everyone received.”
